<idPurp>The dataset is intended to the base layer of information upon which other features and applications may be based. The dataset has been structured to provide basic feature descriptions and network structuring. Each of the layers of the NBHN is structured geometrically to integrate with the other NBHN features.</idPurp>
<idAbs>&lt;DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;This feature class contains the watercourse line geometry for the New Brunswick Hydrographic Network. It contains observed streams as well as inferred centrelines representing an approximate centreline path through waterbodies and around islands within the waterbodies. The data has been collected for the entire province from a period from 2003 to present and is being continuously updated. The first release of the NBHN was in January of 2012. It has been updated to 2015 interp block.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</idAbs>

<abstract>This feature class contains the watercourse line geometry for the New Brunswick Hydrographic Network. It contains observed streams as well as inferred centrelines representing an approximate centreline path through waterbodies and around islands within the waterbodies. The data has been collected for the entire province from a period from 2003 to present and is being continuously updated. The first release of the NBHN was in January of 2012.</abstract>
<purpose>The dataset is intended to the base layer of information upon which other features and applications may be based. The dataset has been structured to provide basic feature descriptions and network structuring. Each of the layers of the NBHN is structured geometrically to integrate with the other NBHN features.</purpose>
<supplinf>The dataset has been collected primarily from Department of Natural Resources orthophoto image maps. Other data sources have been used for feature extraction and reference. The dataset is maintained within a number of blocks representing years of orthophoto coverage. The most recent update cycle began in 2003 and will run until 2012. The 2003 and 2012 blocks were based on Service New Brunswick Softcopy Orthophoto Database. There is also a portion of about 1/11 of the province that is excluded from the DNR orthophoto coverage. These "industrial freehold" are not part of the update 10 year update cycle and used older feature.</supplinf>
